By accessing or using Common Laws.ai ("the Service"), operated by Common Laws.ai ("we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Common Laws.ai is an AI-powered legal research platform for Hong Kong law. The Service provides semantic search across case law and legislation, AI-generated headnotes, and related research tools.

3. User Accounts

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

4. Subscription Plans

Access to certain features requires a paid subscription. Subscription fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis. You may cancel your subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Team subscriptions are managed by a designated team administrator. Team members receive access through their team and do not hold individual paid subscriptions.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to extract data from the Service beyond normal usage.
  • Share your account credentials with others or allow others to access your account.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, software, and AI models, is the intellectual property of Common Laws.ai. Legal texts and judgments sourced from public records remain in the public domain. AI-generated headnotes and summaries are provided for informational purposes only.

7. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that search results or AI-generated content will be accurate or complete.

The Service does not constitute legal advice. You should always consult a qualified legal professional before relying on any information obtained through the Service.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Common Laws.ai shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from your use of the Service.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the version date above and may notify you through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong.
