COURT: As far as sentence is concerned, I have taken into
account everything that has been urged on your behalf by your
counsel.
You stand convicted of one charge of trafficking in a dangerous drug. The quantity of drugs involved is 70.11 grammes of a crystalline solid containing 69.16 grammes of methamphetamine hydrochloride.
Having taken into account everything urged on your behalf, I must say there is really no other real mitigation apart from your early plea of guilty.
As far as that quantity of drugs is concerned, all things considered I would adopt a starting point of 10½ years’ imprisonment.
As I have said, there is really no other real mitigation apart from early plea of guilty for which I shall give you the full one-third discount, thereby reducing the starting point to one of 7 years’ imprisonment.
You are therefore sentenced to 7 years’ imprisonment.
