COURT: I have taken into account everything that has been urged on your behalf. You stand convicted on one count of trafficking in a dangerous drug.
You had indicated your plea of guilty at the pre-trial review stage.
The quantity of drugs involved is 960 grammes of a powder containing 790 grammes of ketamine. For that amount of such drugs I am going to adopt a starting point of 13 years’ imprisonment.
Having taken into account everything that has been urged on your behalf, including your very early plea of guilty, I am prepared to give you a slightly more than one-third discount, thereby reducing the starting point to one of 8 and a half years’ imprisonment.
You are therefore sentenced to 8 and a half years’ imprisonment.
