COURT: Accused, you stand convicted on your own plea of guilty of one charge of trafficking in a dangerous drug. The drugs involved is huge, being 1,626.75 grammes of a mixture containing 1,208.58 grammes of heroin hydrochloride. I consider that the appropriate starting point for such quantity of drugs to be in the region of 24 years. I take into account everything that has been ably urged on your behalf, particularly your plea of guilty at the early stage, and I will give you the full one-third discount.
In the result, you are sentenced to 16 years’ imprisonment.
