COURT: Chan Pak-hang, you have been convicted of one count of trafficking in ketamine. You stand so convicted on your own plea of guilty – that is to your credit.
The quantity involved in this case is 252.75 grammes of a powder containing 212.67 grammes of ketamine. The appropriate starting point for that quantity of drugs is, in my view, 8 years’ imprisonment, which is indeed the starting point urged by your counsel that I should adopt.
I have taken into account everything said on your behalf in mitigation by your counsel, particularly your plea of guilty, and I shall give you a full one-third discount.
You are therefore sentenced to 5 years and 4 months’ imprisonment.
