DECISION ON
ASSESSMENT OF COSTS
________________________
The Court:
1. At the conclusion of the appeal, we dismissed the Plaintiff’s appeal and ordered her to pay the costs of the 2nd Defendant on indemnity basis to be summarily assessed. We also gave directions for the 2nd Defendant to file a statement of costs within seven days and the Plaintiff to file a statement of objection within seven days thereafter.
2. In its statement of costs, the 2nd Defendant seeks costs of HK$382,200. The Plaintiff’s statement of objection suggests that costs of only HK$144,315 should be allowed.
3. In our view, the Plaintiff’s figure is far too low. Taking a broad brush approach, we would assess the 2nd Defendant’s costs at HK$344,000.
