The Court:

1.  At the conclusion of the appeal, we dismissed the Plaintiff’s appeal and ordered her to pay the costs of the 2^nd Defendant on indemnity basis to be summarily assessed. We also gave directions for the 2^nd Defendant to file a statement of costs within seven days and the Plaintiff to file a statement of objection within seven days thereafter.

2.  In its statement of costs, the 2^nd Defendant seeks costs of HK$382,200. The Plaintiff’s statement of objection suggests that costs of only HK$144,315 should be allowed.

3.  In our view, the Plaintiff’s figure is far too low. Taking a broad brush approach, we would assess the 2^nd Defendant’s costs at HK$344,000.
