COURT: I know you are mightily relieved at the verdicts of the jury as you should be. I am hoping, sincerely hoping, that you have learnt a lesson from your incarceration, and that it is never something you should be proud of that you appear, gentlemen, all of you, to be guns for hire for whoever wants somebody thumped. You should not be proud of yourselves at all. You live in Hong Kong. We want our society to be safe, and we want you to be safe. I do not want you assaulted either. And I sincerely hope that you will go away, having learnt a very significant lesson on this.
I am going to sentence you to the maximum sentence that can be given for common assault, which is 1 year, which will mean that you will be released, subject to processing, immediately.
